Mixing

At Highfield Studio

Hear the difference...

We offer various mix packages at Highfield Studio. Whether you want us to mix an old project, a live session or an album, we have the perfect setting for exactly that.

The control room has been specially designed to be acoustically transparent, ensuring you that what you hear out the speakers will translate onto any system, be it rattling out of an iPhone or thumping out of the rig at a club. With our many monitoring options (HR624s for mid detail, Events for low-end and vibe, and Bower and Wilkins cans for spectral accuracy), you can rest assured your tracks will live up to their potential.

We pride ourselves on offering good, honest advice when it comes to the mix process. Too many bands try to rush a mix at the end of a tracking day when the ears are worn out and excitement is high. Taking the time to let the sounds soak in and coming back to the mix fresh always helps when trying to get levels spot on.

Given the simpler requirements of a mix session over tracking instruments, the rates are accordingly lower. Click here for rates, or if you have a specific project and would like to discuss further, please do not hesitate to contact us.

Example 1

Attic Attak

We produced & mixed this project which is currently being pitched to major labels over the UK & United States. The customer was after a very current feel ready for radio.

Example 2

Jack In Water

We spoke to the guys in Jack In Water before recording about the dynamics they were after. It was a huge part in their sound so we made a concious effort to keep that dynamic, just look at the waveform!

Example 3

Claire Harper

We recorded and mixed this live session for Sam Harper and her trio at the time, featuring Zak Barrett on sax. The session was for Sam's website to showcase her trio.
